So we know it is pretty much February but we are still going to say a big HAPPY START TO THE YEAR. 2015 at Tortoise HQ has started off as busy as always and we are currently all about the new.

First off, our shiny new office within the Traverse Theatre Rehearsal space, Leith. We have spent the last week in a 1980’s style montage; painting, carpet laying and building furniture in our classic haphazard way. We are now looking into the future for a possible day when we might be all in the office together. If that day ever comes we are always open to visitors, we will even provide tea and biscuits.

Second on the new list is our brand new show The Lost Things, we have already begun design and construction and will be providing lots more exciting details soon. We are travelling to a new country with Feral; we’re off to Vienna in Austria for a week to perform at the Schubert Theater, swiftly followed by two and a half weeks touring around multiple Danish venues. We are really excited to get back on the road and will ensure we keep everyone up to date on the van antics.

Finally we’re going to be revamping Feral for a couple of special one-off showings, with our project Feral in Margate/Poole. Working alongside the lovely Fuel theatre on their New Theatre in your Neighbourhood project, we are redesigning the set and storyline of the piece to suit the specific community we are in. This project has already been full of so many surprises and we will be sharing some stories soon.

Now that’s a lot of new things to kick off the year and there’s even more to be revealed soon, so to make ourselves feel better about what’s to come we’ll take the words of the good Mr Neil Gaiman.

‘I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.’
